The CHFA is offering a limited-time program that aims to make homeownership more attainable for first-time buyers. Borrowers can get up to 20% down payment assistance and up to 5% for closing costs in a zero-interest forgivable loan setup.

Requirements:

  • Must be a current Connecticut resident with at least 3 years of recent residency
  • Household income should meet median limits per county or city
  • DPA must be combined with a CHFA primary first mortgage
  • If not first-time homebuyer, applicant must not own another property at time of closing
