Connecticut Housing Finance Authority - Time to Own
The CHFA is offering a limited-time program that aims to make homeownership more attainable for first-time buyers. Borrowers can get up to 20% down payment assistance and up to 5% for closing costs in a zero-interest forgivable loan setup.
Requirements:
- Must be a current Connecticut resident with at least 3 years of recent residency
- Household income should meet median limits per county or city
- DPA must be combined with a CHFA primary first mortgage
- If not first-time homebuyer, applicant must not own another property at time of closing
